How You Can Volunteer

1. Mentorship
  • Role Description:
    Serve as a trusted guide for individuals in our program. Help participants navigate challenges, set goals, and stay accountable.
  • Time Commitment:
    Meet weekly or bi-weekly with a mentee for 1–2 hours, either in person or virtually.
  • Impact:
    Build a supportive relationship that fosters personal and professional growth.
2. Group Facilitators
  • Role Description:
    Lead weekly group discussions inside prison or during pre-release workshops. Topics include faith, emotional resilience, financial literacy, or career skills.
  • Time Commitment:
    2–3 hours per session, flexible scheduling.
  • Impact:
    Facilitate open, supportive conversations that encourage personal development.
3. Life Skills Trainers
  • Role Description:
    Teach participants essential skills like resume writing, budgeting, conflict resolution, or parenting.
  • Time Commitment:
    2–4 hours per training session, with the option to volunteer as needed.
  • Impact:
    Equip participants with practical tools for reintegration success.
4. Community Advocates
  • Role Description:
    Help spread awareness of the Montana Re-Entry Program through public speaking, organizing events, or creating partnerships with local organizations.

    Varies depending on events or outreach projects.

5. Administrative Support
  • Role Description:
    Assist with tasks like managing participant records, coordinating events, or updating the website.

    2–4 hours per week, remote or on-site.

6. Fundraising Volunteers

Do I need prior experience to volunteer?

 No prior experience is required! We provide all necessary training and support.

Can I volunteer remotely?

We currently don’t have remote roles available.

What is the time commitment?

Time commitments vary depending on the role. We work with you to find a schedule that fits your availability.

Is there a minimum time commitment for mentorship?

We recommend at least 6 months to build a meaningful and supportive relationship with your mentee.

How do I know which role is right for me?

During orientation, we’ll discuss your skills, interests, and availability to match you with the perfect role.
